Newborn Care Log & Feeding Diary
Printable A4 PDF + Excel tracker
The first six weeks are a blur. This log keeps the facts in one place.
When the doctor asks how many feeds and wet nappies there were yesterday, you will have the answer on one page. When someone else takes a shift, you hand them the same page instead of explaining everything again.
What's included
- 16-page printable A4 PDF: start-here guide, baby and family details, two daily 24-hour log layouts, weekly summary, seven-day sleep record, medicine and temperature log, growth record, vaccination record, caregiver handover sheet, doctor visit notes, a page of questions worth asking, a keepsake page for firsts, extra log grid and notes
- Excel tracker with seven tabs: an event log, a day summary that counts feeds and nappies by date, seven-day totals, a growth record with the change since the last weighing, a medicine log, and a read-me that explains every tab
- The daily log covers 24 hours on one sheet, so a full day fits on a single page instead of three
Who it's for
New parents, grandparents, nannies and anyone sharing night duty. Also useful for a baby-shower or new-baby gift, because it is something people actually use rather than another blanket.
How to use it
- Fill the baby details page once and keep it at the front of the folder.
- Print seven daily log sheets for the week and keep them where you feed the baby.
- Write one line per event: time first, then what happened. At 3 a.m., short notes beat long sentences.
- At the end of the week, fill the weekly summary from the seven daily sheets. That is the page to take to the clinic.
- Use the handover sheet when someone else takes over, and the doctor visit page to write the answers while you are still in the room.

Please note. This is a record-keeping printable. It does not tell you how much a baby should feed, sleep or weigh, and it is not medical advice. Follow your paediatrician's guidance and write their instructions on the notes pages so the whole family follows the same plan. Images on this page are illustrations.
